Eco Vita conducted comprehensive pre-project surveys for onsite biological resources, focusing on desert tortoise and burrowing owl. The primary goal of these surveys was to gather essential biological data to support impact assessments required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Safety was paramount throughout the project. Given the remote location, crew members maintained regular check-ins with the project lead to ensure clear and consistent communication. This approach not only safeguarded the well-being of the team but also facilitated effective collaboration. Eco Vita staff worked closely with another environmental consulting firm, ensuring that all survey activities were meticulously coordinated and executed. The collected data will be instrumental in consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Federal Endangered Species Act, and in securing any necessary incidental take authorizations from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, as well as other relevant agencies.
